Dressin for a Royal Wedding
After viewing last weeks post and seeing a recap of the highlights of Wimbledon, one of my favorite moments was seeing the newest member of the royal family, Her Royal Highness Meghan the Duchess of Sussex in attendance with her sister-in-law, Kate the Duchess of Cambridge. Seeing Meghan made me nostalgic to take a stroll down memory lane and revisit one of the biggest days in recent British history, her royal wedding to Prince Harry His Royal hotness (I mean) Highness now the Duke of Sussex. Since this blessed event took place on May 19th, before I started this blog, I decided to dawn my fascinator again and show how I celebrated the royal nuptials.
This outfit shows the duality of masculine and feminine by pairing tuxedo tails with a fascinator in muted platinum grey over a white linen tunic and cropped capri pants, I adorned this look with rhinestone accessories; earrings, ring, choker and brooches.
Then I finished this ensemble with a vintage silver sequin evening clutch, that I thought translated nicely to a day look with silver peep-toe pumps.
This brunch spread is fit for a Queen, or in this case a Duchess, with elegant finger foods in bite-sized offerings that any bride could sample without worrying about fitting into her dress on the big day. Mini quiches, chicken salad on croute, and cucumber sandwiches, are accompanied by pretty petit-fours adorned with the couples initials, which are displayed on their own treat stand perfect for nibbling. My favorite accent of this table is the cheese danish that I decorated to resemble the Union Jack flag, which is the national flag of the United Kingdom. Congratulations to the royal newly weds, I wish you both many joyous years together, and God save the Queen!
P.S. four days after this post was published H.R.H Meghan the Duchess of Sussex, is the cover story on People magazine, photographed wearing a fascinator.
